Northwest Arkansas has a variety of fitness opportunities ranging from indoor rock climbing and various gyms to outdoor hiking and mountain biking activities. Engaging in daily activities especially outside improves one’s physical and mental health. Benefiting in reducing stress and improving moods, so college students listen up if you are stressed about those midterms coming up.

Suggested outdoor activity: Outdoor activities in NWA - Hiking

Yellow Rock Trail, at Devil’s Den State Park. Located 27 minutes from south of the University of Arkansas. Devil's Den State Park makes for a unique and fun day trip. With beautiful scenic driving into the park the remote area gives you a break from the hustle and bustle of the city life and a break from technology. There are many trails with the park that are worth checking out but my personal favorite would have to be Yellow Rock Trail. The Hike is 2.6 miles (loop) with an elevation gain of 482ft! It is estimated to take people an average of 1 hour and 14 minutes.

Recommended time to visit:

This popular trail could be crowded on the weekends so we recommend going on an early Saturday or Sunday morning to ensure you get parking. So grab your friends and a little picnic and go check out what the beautiful devils den has to offer.
